CHIANG MAI & MAE KAMPONG VILLAGE
Discover the peaceful rhythms of rural life with an overnight escape to Mae Kampong village. Nestled in lush mountains near Chiang Mai, this 2-day program invites you to experience local traditions—from shopping for ingredients at a village market and cooking your own dinner, to learning about tea leaf processing, bamboo handicrafts, and herbal remedies. Enjoy a homestay with warm hospitality and explore the hot springs of San Kamphaeng before returning to the city.
DAY 1: CHIANG MAI – MAE KAMPONG VILLAGE (-/L/D)
8.30am Leave the Chiang Mai city with minivan drive though the scenic of the mountain green lush on the way stop at the local market to select the ingredient for making dinner by your own. Upon arrival in Mae Kam Pong we will be met by some of the villagers. You will learn about the history of this remarkable village and make a beautiful trek around the village. Most villagers are engaged in growing bai miang, a kind of plant that can be processed into tea. Apart from bai miang, they also grow coffee and aromatic mushrooms. Other villagers are making handicrafts such as decorated pillows filled with tealeaves, rattan baskets and bamboo furniture.
Various short walks are possible around Mae Kam Pong. Our program is flexible and will be adjusted according to your wishes. Lunch will be either in a homestay in the village or a picnic lunch along the way, depending on the program. A traditional massage is available.
Dinner and overnight will be at the village homestay.

DAY 2: MAE KAMPONG VILLAGE – CHIANG MAI (B/-/-)
Early morning 7.00am offer alms to the monks at the village temple with your host. Breakfast will serve you by the host and stroll around the community to see the making of local hats, bamboo furniture bamboo handicraft, herbal products and the process of old tea leafs fermented processing. Then visit to the San Kamphaeng Hot spring see the 100 degrees Celsius water from underground. Drive back to the Chiang Mai City for 1 hour (at around 12:00 PM)
